Order Fast and Pay Even Faster at Restaurants With This Smartphone App

Everyone who eats out knows the waiter dilemma: Waiters seem to disappear when customers need them. Now there's a smartphone app that helps customers with that. It's available this Thursday, and it's free.

It lets users go direct to the menu, order food and drinks, ask for refills or a box to go, even pay when they want to. It works for either to-go or dining in.

This app wants to become a user's waiter assistant. It's MoWaiter, and it's here to revolutionize the way people eat out. Users can enjoy an actual waiter's help in choosing from the menu, along with the in-person service and warmth, even suggestions. Users can also do some or all of it on the smartphone. Then when it's time to pay, users can just click and run.

Whether they are in a hurry or there to sit a while, MoWaiter helps smooth out the experience. "Some people don't mind waiting to order," says MoWaiter co-founder and CEO Joni Girardi, "But who really likes to wait when it comes to pay and leave?" Over time, MoWaiter learns what users like and makes personalized recommendations. "MoWaiter will know what you like better than your mom!" cracked Girardi.

MoWaiter plans to incorporate and partner with industry leaders to give users loyalty and rewards programs, ratings, table reservations, coupons and discounts.

It's a win-win for restaurants. MoWaiter will increase table turnover and improve customer traffic and revenue per customer.

The already-overbooked "soft launch" takes place Thursday, March 22 at the popular Tia Juana restaurant in Sunnyvale. "Tia Juana is super busy especially during lunch," says Greg Gutierrez, Tia Juana co-founder and general manager. "We believe MoWaiter will help to expedite our service to customers and increase revenues. I’m excited to be part of this revolution!"
