Nine Miners Killed in South Africa after Shaft Collapses

Nine miners have been killed in South Africa following a shaft collapse that left the men trapped hundreds of yards below the surface on Monday.

All nine bodies have been recovered from the Rustenburg mine, located northwest of the capital Johannesburg.

The mine was being operated by Impala Platinum which has said they will set aside Friday as a day of mourning for the victims at all their operations.
