Is God Used As A Crutch In Christian Drug Treatment?

Despite the rise in popularity of Christian treatment centers, many people believe that God is used as a crutch in Christian drug treatment. While there will always be skepticism about faith and spirituality, Christian drug treatment programs strive to incorporate the secular approach to addiction treatment with Biblical principles, creating an individualized program for every addict to achieve recovery and a happier life.

Many addicts choose a Christian drug rehab not having much faith in God, let alone themselves. Addiction is a disease that destroys confidence and self-esteem, but Christian drug treatment helps addicts restore not only their physical strength, but their emotional strength as well. There are other addicts who go into a Christian drug treatment program not having been previously exposed to a faith-based community, and find themselves wanting to explore the Bible more and grow deeper connected to God's grace and love.

Christian drug treatment is effective because, to put it simply, it gives addicts hope at a time when they do not have much hope in anything. Faith is hope. Faith is uplifting, and gives people the motivation to move forward and make positive changes in their lives, and that is where Christian drug rehab programs come into the picture. Through intensive Bible study and prayer, Christian drug treatment seeks to empower addicts to take responsibility for their own recovery, make amends for their past mistakes, and plan to be stronger in the future.

There will continue to be people who are critical of faith, spirituality and religion. That is a fact that will not change. But when addicts stay dedicated to the tenets of a Christian drug treatment program, they will, in the end, be successful and carve out a full and healthy life for themselves.
