Citibank survey finds small businesses increase their use of internet marketing

New York, NY- Small businesses don’t have mega budgets to spend on marketing, but they are discovering that the internet is an inexpensive way to reach a broader base of customers. A new survey released by Citibank has found that small businesses are driving sales growth by utilizing legal internet marketing.

Citibank surveyed 749 businesses and 65 percent said that utilizing social media and other marketing techniques is key to growing their business. The majority of the businesses, roughly 70 percent, said that they use their main website as their primary marketing channel, but plan to also use Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media platforms in their marketing efforts.

Sixty percent of the businesses included in the survey said they planned to increase activity on their websites in their legal internet marketing campaigns.

Maria Veltre, Managing Director, Small Business Marketing & Customer Experience for Citi said in a press release, “Although small business owners have been slower to adopt online marketing channels, they are clearly warming up to use these tools to target customers. They are seeing that social media platforms can be an efficient and cost effective means to increase awareness of their business, engage customers and, ultimately, to drive growth.”

But not all of these small business owners have the time to devout to legal internet marketing so they can turn to SEO and marketing companies to do the work for them.
