Orange County deputy sentenced to jail for DUI

Orange County, CA- An Orange County Sherriff’s deputy pleaded guilty to driving under the influence Friday and was sentenced to two months in jail.

The district attorney’s office stated that Mario Castro entered a plea to two misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, five months’ probation and must complete an alcohol abatement program. Even a police officer can benefit from the representation of an Orange County drunk driving lawyer.

Castro was arrested last September when he was caught driving the wrong-way right in front of a police officer after a night of drinking in Costa Mesa; he was off-duty. At the time of his arrest Castro’s blood alcohol content was .24, three times the state’s legal limit of .08.

Castro was also arrested for drunk driving in 2009.

People rely on police to keep our roads safe and they are always on the lookout for intoxicated drivers. Because of the seriousness of a DUI charge the resulting penalties can be very severe. Any person, facing a DUI charge, is advised to contact an Orange County drunk driving lawyer to represent them in court.

With the help of an Orange County drunk driving lawyer, the offender may be able to have their charges reduced or dismissed, depending on the circumstances, and minimize their possible penalties. They may be able to avoid jail and retain their driving privileges.
