Steve Nash accepts Phoenix Suns $22M extension

Over the weekend Steve Nash notified the Phoenix Suns that he would accept their $22 million extension offer.  It took Nash a little over a week to give the Suns an answer.  According to his agent Bill Duffy he will formally sign the agreement this week.  Nash who is a two time NBA Most Valuable Player has the longest contract extension allowed for a player his age.   According to his agent $6 million of the extension money will be deferred, and Nash will receive $3 million in each of the first two years after completing this contract in 2012.

This is an ideal extensions and compensation for one of NBA’s most talented players.  Steve Nash is one of five players in NBA history to average at least 14 points and 8 assists per game.   We wish Steve Nash luck with the upcoming season.
