Irreverent New Radio Show Pokes Fun at Job Losses,Fat Bosses and Anyone who Flosses
At a time when the economy is licking its wounds; a little entrepreneurial comedy relief hits the Internet radio airwaves in a bizarre blend of business news, kitty juggling and marketing tactics you bank on. Or laugh at… Or whatever tickles your Twitter.
At a time when everyone seems pretty serious about the economy; comedian, juggler, and entrepreneur David Kamatoy chuckles in the face of downsizing danger. "Right now the country needs jobs. Jobs are created by small businesses and entrepreneurs. Through our semi-entertaining and fat-free radio show we intend to inspire that niche and in doing so stimulate the economy in our own provocative and slightly irreverent way.”
The David Kamatoy Radio Show is now Streaming on UStream.tv on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00-7:00 PST. The shows will be made available for audio and video downloads at http://davidkamatoy.com/. The show will focus on Entrepreneurship, Entertainment, Internet Marketing, and some unusually funny other stuff.
David Kamatoy is a juggler both figuratively and literally. He’s a professional juggler/comedian who has worked with start up and emerging companies for over 12 years. His unique perspective as both an entertainer and entrepreneur has allowed him to interview an eclectic guest list over the years, including Dat Phan, winner of Last Comic Standing, T. Harv Eker, bestselling author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, and Tim Westergren, founder of Pandora.
The “juggling act” part of the show is to make it informative, inspirational and entertaining without dropping the ball. Balancing the show's content from current news items, inspirational interviews, business tips and entertainment might be a challenge for some, but Kamatoy has spent his career getting people’s attention with humor, slapstick comedy, and a solid understanding of funding, launching, and growing a wide variety of businesses.
Knowing that small businesses and entrepreneurship are on the rise during this recession, it only makes sense that a show like this would build a loyal following. “People are sick and tired of hearing the bad news about the economy. They want to be inspired. They want to hear new ideas. They want to see who’s succeeding in this massive time of opportunity,” says Kamatoy.
Kamatoy learned that talking about business-plan writing for two hours may be like Viagra to the venture capitalists out there but it’s a real snoozer for the fast-paced, action-oriented entrepreneur. “Digging into the stories of how successful business owners, entertainers and entrepreneurs went from stinking thinking to launching and drinking seems to be where the real interest is,” says Kamatoy.
The program targets a unique niche because the core of Kamatoy’s team and associates are entrepreneurs, entertainers, and Internet marketers but not necessarily in that order. This unusual hodge-podge of talent has done everything from musical theatre, television appearances, raised seed capital for start-up companies and performed in a circus. Yes, Kamatoy at-many-a-circus past, has been known to dress up like an elephant and let people ride on his back. The David Kamatoy Radio Show intends to take these same skill sets and apply them to fascinating discussions with clients - live on the show while simultaneously interacting directly with entrepreneurial listeners.
The producers of the David Kamatoy Radio Show plan on taking advantage of the high-speed Internet culture by directly interacting with listeners via IM chat, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, iPhones, sign language, and the occasional smoke signals. The show is going after timely entrepreneurial news items as they come out of news giant sites like TransWorldNews.com and Google news.
The show will also integrate video interviews and stories recorded and edited in between the live shows. Those videos will be shown during the live podcast as well as posted on viral video sites like Viddler and You Tube.
Voice-over talent and social media correspondent Steve Dahl lends his voice to the show's introductions and sign off's and will be part of the comedy relief blended into this underpaid collection of funny people, money people, and entrepreneurial people.
And of course, David Kamatoy’s understatement of the day… "As soon as you see a video or tune into the live show you’ll realize that these guys don't take themselves too seriously but they still have a lot valid and semi-useful things to say about starting, launching, and growing your business.” Stay tuned. This will definitely be fun.
