Santa Rosa, CA- An 18 year-old man has been charged with DUI after causing a two-vehicle roll-over crash Tuesday, during the morning commute.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the man had been weaving in and out of southbound traffic on Highway 101, reaching speeds up to 80 mph, when he clipped the rear of a car driven by Natasha Furman. The impact caused both Furman’s and the man’s cars to overturn.
Furman’s mother was following behind her as they were caravanning to Petaluma. She witnessed the accident and told the Press Democrat, “He swerved in between us and then lost control and hit her and both cars flipped.” Furman’s mother rushed to the overturned car to discover that he daughter was conscious and speaking.
Natasha Furman was briefly trapped in her car and had to be extricated by emergency crews. She was taken to the hospital with head and neck injuries.
