Simon Cowell feels “lucky” he walked away unharmed after confronting a crazed fan who broke into his London home Saturday night. According to the entertainment mogul’s spokesman Max Clifford, Cowell was watching TV when he heard a loud sound coming from an upstairs bathroom. He found 29-year-old Leanne Zaloumis inside the bathroom holding a brick.
"She had smashed her way in through the window, and it was unclear how long she had been there or what she was doing,” Clifford told The Sun.
"It was a very frightening experience for Simon, who told me it was like something from a horror movie,” he added. "He was shaken up. Strange as it might seem he feels lucky, because it could have been a gun or a knife in her hand."
The X Factor creator’s security team detained Zaloumis until police took her into custody. It is unclear why she broke into Cowell’s home. In an appearance at West London Magistrates' Court on Monday, Zaloumis was charged with aggravated burglary. She was also accused of intending to "inflict grievous bodily harm upon a person therein and at the time of committing the said burglary.”
