Small businesses increasingly use the internet for marketing

New York, NY- The internet has a powerful reach with millions of people accessing websites and social media on a daily basis. This is a wonderful opportunity for a small business or law firm to reach new potential customers, and more of these businesses are beginning to see the World Wide Web as an effective marketing tool.

A poll of 1,200 businesses conducted by AT&T found that many small businesses use grassroots advertising strategies both online and offline and 60 percent said they planned to invest as much or more on a legal internet marketing strategy in 2012.

Seventy-nine percent of the respondents said they rely on word of mouth as their primary marketing tool. And on the internet it is easier to spread the word about how wonderful a business or service providers is, on average social media users have hundreds of friends. Sixty percent of the businesses surveyed said that they rely on their websites for legal internet marketing, emphasizing the importance of having a visually appealing and easily navigated website that has been optimized.

The internet makes it possible for a small business to market with a lower cost than print, television, and radio ads. But they must know how to network their business on social media and keep their sites visible on search pages. Some business owners are simply too busy operating their business to build and maintain an effective marketing strategy.
