Louisville company faces lawsuit over Indiana bus crash

Louisville, KY- Morris Transportation Inc., a Louisville, Kentucky company that owned a bus that was involved in a fatal bus crash on March 12 in Indiana, is facing a lawsuit.

Lawyers representing three families allege that the death of one student, the bus driver and injuries to 10 others could have been prevented if the bus was equipped with safety belts.

The bus crashed into a concrete pillar on March 12th, while transporting students to a charter school. The lawsuit claims that Miller Transport Inc. was responsible for the injuries because they failed to make the bus safe for passengers. Neither Indiana nor Kentucky requires that school buses have safety belts.

The attorney for the three families also allege that Miller Transportation Inc. failed to properly train the bus driver and monitor his health; despite the fact that investigators said the driver did not have any medical conditions.
