The Island President, starring Mohamed Nasheed, Aminath Shauna, Mohamed Aslam, Mark Lynas, Ahmed Naseem and Paul Roberts, opens in theaters Wednesday, March 28. The documentary centers on the challenge Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed faces: keeping his low-lying country safe from a rise in sea levels. Even a three foot rise would make the Maldives inhabitable. The film follows Nasheed’s first year in office.
The film has a runtime of 1 hour 41 minutes and is rated PG for thematic elements, some violent content and smoking.
