Multiple truck accident leaves coins and candy scattered on Canadian highway

Ontario, Canada- An early morning accident on Wednesday caused millions of dollars in gold and silver coins to scatter on a northeastern Ontario highway.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. local time when the driver of a Brinks tractor-trailer truck, carrying $5 million of newly minted gold and silver coins, crossed the center median then crashed into a rock cut on Highway 11.

The initial crash caused a chain of additional accidents involving two tractor-trailer trucks and a minivan.

The driver and passenger in the Brinks truck suffered serious injuries life-threatening injuries.

The Canadian currency coins, called loonies and toonies were spread along the roadway. One of the other trucks involved in the accident was hauling candy which also spilled on the highway.

The other individuals involved in the accident did not suffer any serious injuries.

Canadian police, aided by Brinks employees, used magnets to gather all the coins and had to re-route traffic away from the accident scene.

When injuries are involved, the victims deserve the maximum amount of compensation the law allows, which is possible with the assistance of a truck accident lawyer. A settlement obtained by a truck accident attorney will alleviate the victim’s financial worries so that they can focus on their recovery.

In addition to injuries, truck accidents can result in the destruction and loss of property. The individuals who have accrued costs due to property damage can hire a truck accident attorney to recover those costs.
