New Book Written by LeBron James Details Marijuana Use in High School

LeBron James, the NBA’s reigning MVP, admits in a new book that he smoked marijuana while in high school and had a difficult time dealing with the media frenzy surrounding him and his team following his appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated when he was 17-years-old.

The book, “Shooting Stars,” was written by LeBron and co-author Buzz Bissinger and tracks his journey along the way to becoming one of the most recognizable sports figures on the planet. That journey includes less than flattering moments in which LeBron details some of his struggles.

Addressing his rise to fame as a high school junior LeBron says “We had become big-headed jerks, me in particular.” He also acknowledges that he smoked marijuana with his high school teammates one night.
