Ron Burgundy is making a comeback! Eight years after the release of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, star Will Ferrell has announced a sequel is officially in the works. Filming is set to being later this year.
Appearing as Ron on TBS’ Conan Wednesday night, Ferrell said, "To everyone here in the Americas. To our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK including England, as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself . . . have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman.”
It is unclear if any of the original cast, which includes Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate, will return for the sequel. Adam McKay will return as a co-writer and director.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy raked in more than $91 million worldwide.
