Outdated
kitchen? Your cabinets could be the culprit. Faded, tired looking cabinets and
drawers really make a kitchen look old. But you don’t need to spend thousands
for new ones, if you have the tools and know-how to update your current
cabinets. The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television welcomes Shannon
Kaye, interior designer and consultant for SHUR-LINE® Painting Tools, who
demonstrates just how easy and economical a kitchen makeover can be. The
segment airs in July.
“Even
if you don’t have a huge budget, it is easy and affordable to update your
kitchen,” says Kaye. “In fact, even in today’s economy, you can create a
completely modern look within your budget.”
The
Balancing Act brought Kaye to a viewer’s apartment (in
Kaye
took the homeowner through the makeover steps - cleaning, sanding and painting.
They used leftover paint and a drop cloth to create a coordinated kitchen rug.
“Many
people feel that cabinets need to be spray painted, but that is not the case as
SHUR-LINE’s high quality brushes and pads offer the same quality finish and are
so easy to work with,” says Kaye. For the kitchen she recommends an acrylic
latex paint.
After
the painting was completed, she updated the cabinets with new Bulldog Hardware®
pulls in oil rubbed bronze.
“Kitchens
can be transformed so easily and without breaking the budget, all you need is a
little imagination and terrific tools,” says Doug Campbell, Executive Vice
President of Programming, BrandStar Entertainment, the producers of The
Balancing Act.
