Sometimes
a busy family household means mom gives up her personal space to everything
from video games to a husband’s favorite hobbies. But when parents become
“empty nesters” there may be a great solution – create a “bonus room”.
It’s easy to make a cool and clutter-free personal space to do crafts like
scrap-booking, house collections, or even run a small business, if you have the
right tips! The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television welcomes Shannon
Kaye, interior designer and consultant for SHUR-LINE® Painting Tools, who
demonstrates how a little organization and some stylish paint can really
transform a room. The segment airs in July.
Kaye
pays a visit to the home of a Balancing Act viewer in

use bold and contrasting colors to bring interest and style to the room,” she
explains. Then she adds both energy and order in one swoosh, as she paints
rectangles on the walls that will “frame” photos, diplomas, and family artwork.
“Every

order,” explains Kaye. But she gives it an added dash of attitude by painting

Kaye
then works on sectioning the room’s activity zones by sorting office and craft
