Hollywood, CA- Plastic surgery used to be something people and celebrities had, and never talked about. But in recent years the stigma associated with having liposuction or another cosmetic procedure has lifted thanks to the many celebrities who undergo the procedures. Just about every week some celebrity admits to having a procedure and this week it’s Clay Aiken.
Aiken, who was the star of last season’s American Idol, admitted that he had liposuction. On the “Watch What Happens Live,” talk show Aiken told the host he was having surgery for TMJ, or temporomandibular joint, a disorder that causes the jaw to pop out of place and can be very painful.
Aiken revealed to the host, “I was having surgery on my jaw for a Tmj disorder thing and I had them suck the fat out of my chin while they were in there. I was like ‘You know what, while I’m already down (under anesthesia) go ahead and take the vacuum in there and suck the fat out of my chin.’”
Liposuction gives people the opportunity to correct their physical flaws. Many people have an issue with excess fat under their chins and on their necks. Because surgeons can use smaller cannulas to get into tight places, like the chin, the procedure is safe with minimal scarring.
Not only can liposuction give a person a more attractive neck it can also be used to reduce or eliminate fat in areas that can be resistant to exercise, such as the buttocks and stomach.
