Another American Idol journey came to an end during last night’s elimination, narrowing down the group to the top 8. Ryan Seacrest revealed Hollie Cavanagh, Heejun Han and Skylar Laine were the bottom three in danger of elimination because they had the least among of viewers’ votes. Only one of them would have to sing for the judge’s save. That person turned out to be Han, whose performance last week had Steve Tyler questioning his dedication to the competition.
Han, 22, sang Donnie Hathaway’s "A Song For You” in an effort to win the judge’s save, but it wasn’t enough. "Heejun, let the record show that you knew this was coming yourself. You saw it come last week ... Unfortunately, after talking, we're going to have to let you go,” Steven said.
Speaking to reporters after the show, Han said he “had an amazing time” and plans pursue any entertainment opportunity that stems from his time on Idol. “You know, this is the biggest opportunity that I will ever have in my life. I'm definitely going to make something out of it by doing anything that's put in front of me,” he said. “Acting, comedy, sitcoms, singing, dancing. Just not adult films!”
In addition to Cavanaugh and Laine the remaining contestants include Phillip Phillips, Elise Testone, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez and Deandre Brackensick.
