NHL Roundup Tuesday Night: Scores From Around the NHL

Mike Sillinger had a goal and two assists while Alexei Yashin and Jason Blake each added a goal as the New York Islanders (5-4-2) beat the struggling Chicago Blackhawks (4-8-0) 5-2. The win completed a 4-1-2 home stand for the Islanders and Chicago suffered its sixth straight loss.

San Jose got two goals in the third period including the game winner off Christian Ehrhoff’s stick with 35.8 seconds remaining to beat the Florida Panthers (5-7-2) 2-1. The Sharks (9-4-0) picked up a goal from Joe Thornton in a third period that saw San Jose outshoot the Panthers 14-8.

The Montreal Canadians (6-2-3) picked up a shorthanded goal from Christopher Higgins and netted another goal from Alexei Kovalev in their 4-2 win over Ottawa (5-6-0). Andrei Markov added an empty netter and an assist for the Canadians and Ray Emery stopped 25 shots from the Senators.

Nashville (7-3-1) got a goal from Steve Sullivan with a little more than five minutes left in the third period and the Predators held on to defeat the Vancouver Canucks (7-5-1) 3-2. Sullivan added an assist in the Predators road win.
