Ashton Kutcher is reportedly set to be transformed into the late Steve Jobs this summer for a biopic about the Apple co-founder. Variety reports the biopic will “chronicle Steve Jobs from wayward hippie to co-founder of Apple.” Filming will begin in May when Kutcher goes on hiatus from the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men. Joshua Michael Stern will reportedly direct.
Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak. He left the company in 1985 amid problems with the board of directors, but returned in 1997. Jobs revitalized Apple with a string of successful products, including the iPod, iPhone and iPad. He died last October after a long battle with cancer.
Kutcher has not commented. The 34-year-old got his start on That 70s Show and later produced and starred on MTV’s Punk’d. He returned to TV last year to replace Charlie Sheen on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men.
