Roger Federer and Wife Welcome Twin Girls

Tennis champ Roger Federer and his wife Mirka have welcomed twin daughters. Mirka Federer gave birth to the twins Thursday evening in Switzerland. The birth was announced early Friday on Federer’s Web site.

“This is the greatest day of our lives,” the tennis star, who won Wimbledon earlier this month, said in a statement.

The couple, who wed in April after 9 years of dating, named their daughters Charlene Riva and Myla Rose. “Mirka, Myla and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well,” Federer added.

Federer and Mirka announced the pregnancy in March but did not reveal they were expecting twins.
