Alex Baldwin popped the question to his girlfriend of nearly a year, yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas, over the weekend in New York. A rep for Baldwin, 53, confirms Thomas, 28, accepted.
"Yes, it's true! Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend and we're all excited for the newly engaged couple. Alec’s birthday is tomorrow – great way to celebrate!" the rep said in a statement.
Thomas may have tweeted about the proposal on Saturday night. "I had an unforgettable experience tonight. I was serenaded by @TenorRyan while dining with @alecbaldwin at @emporionyc Thank you Ryan-wow," she wrote.
No other details were available. Baldwin and Thomas have been dating since last summer. This will be the second marriage for Baldwin, who was married to actress Kim Basinger from 1993 to 2002. They have a 16-year-old daughter together named Ireland.
Baldwin currently stars alongside Tina Fey on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. His upcoming films include Rock of Ages and Rise of the Guardians.
