The Pittsburgh Steelers have reached an agreement with the number one pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, coming to terms on a five-year deal with defensive end Evander “Ziggy” Hood.
Hood is expected to sign the deal later in the week and the 6-foot-4,300-poundr could eventually be used at nose tackle for the defending Super Bowl champions.
The former Missouri Tigers standout became fourth first-round draft pick to come to a contract agreement joining quarterback Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions, quarterback Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets and center Alex Mack of the Cleveland Browns.
