“Twilight” actor Peter Facinelli talks about divorce from Jennie Garth

Star of “Twilight” and “Nurse Jackie,” Peter Facinelli appeared on “Live! With Kelly” to talk about his divorce from Jennie Garth.

Facinelli told Kelly, “It’s very hard to break up with somebody, especially after you’ve been together for 17 years and have kids,” adding, “It’s even more painful when it is played out in the media.”

Facinelli had his divorce attorney file for dissolution last month after an 11 year marriage, but reports claim the split has been coming for a long time.

A source told US Weekly, “It’s been over for months, maybe even a year. They kept up some sort of charade for the kids.”

Another source told US, “They’ve been working on the marriage for a while. It’s not something they took lightly.”

Garth and Facinelli married in 2001 and have three daughters together; Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.

Couples, who have children, are especially in need of an experienced divorce lawyer to help them settle issues of child custody and support.

Peter told Kelly, “Jen and I are doing really well. She will always be in my life. I love her – we’re just going to have a different relationship.”

Sometimes couples just can’t save their marriages even with therapy.
