San Antonio, TX- Two tractor trailer drivers, a married couple, were killed in blaze Tuesday after an accident involving three tractor-trailer trucks on Highway 85.
The accident occurred at 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1582 and Highway 85. According to Sgt. Chris McGuairt of the Texas Department of Safety, two trucks were both at a stop sign, one facing south and one facing west. The truck at the west facing stop sign had the right of way and proceeded through the intersection.
The truck at the south facing side was then rear-ended by another tractor-trailer, which the couple was in. The south facing truck was pushed into the intersection where it collided with the truck that had the right of way.
The third truck burst into flames after hitting the second truck. The couple inside, Ronald and Regina Stowe were not able to get out of their truck and died on the scene.
Police believe that Ronald Stowe was driving the truck at the time and that excessive speed played a role in the accident.
The two other drivers were also injured and taken to a local hospital.
Truck accidents can often result in serious injury or death, but the victims are able to hire a truck accident attorney if they want to seek financial compensation from a careless driver. The help of a truck accident lawyer will assure that the victims will receive a just settlement for their injuries.
When the injured retains a truck accident lawyer, they will begin to work on their client’s case immediately to build a strong case.
