New York, NY- After a two year battle, former Giant’s player Tiki Barber and his estranged wife, Ginny, have settled their divorce, paving the way for Barber to marry his young mistress.
The couple has 60 days to file their divorce settlement with the court.
In 2010, Ginny Barber hired a divorce attorney after Tiki left her for his much younger mistress Tracy Lynn Johnson, who was a NBC intern when she met the former running back. Tiki left his wife for Johnson just days before she was due to give birth to twin daughters.
Ginny and Tiki already had two boys together when he began the affair.
Tiki retired from the Giants in 2007 and later secured employment as a correspondent for NBC, who fired him shortly after discovering the affair, citing he violated the morality clause in his contract.
In 2010, The New York Post reported that Tiki was too broke to pay his divorce settlement.
Barber proposed to his mistress last year and the couple hoped to marry this spring, but the protracted divorce proceedings put their nuptials on hold.
Ginny’s divorce lawyer would not reveal the details of the alimony or custodial settlement.
Infidelity is one of the leading causes of divorce as few marriages can survive after one spouse cheats. When there is sufficient evidence to prove infidelity, a divorce attorney will be able to obtain a favorable settlement for their jilted spouse.
