In a full autopsy report released Wednesday, a medical official describes how Whitney Houston was found face down in more than 1 foot of water in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton Hotel room on February 11. The report says Houston’s body was found by her assistant around 3:35 p.m.
“The bathtub was filled with water and there was water on the bathroom floor, however, the water was not running. She called out to the bodyguard and they pulled the decedent out of the bathtub. The assistant then called downstairs telling them to call 911,” the official states.
The official also notes that “a small spoon with a white crystal substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper, along with other miscellaneous items” was found on the bathroom counter. “Located in the top drawer in the north side of the counter were remnants of a white powdery substance and a portable mirror on a base. On the bottom of that base were more remnants of a white powdery substance,” the report says.
Houston also had several abrasions on her face and upper body. The coroner determined the pop star died of accidental drowning with heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors.
The singer is survived by ex-husband Bobby Brown and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.
