The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television wants to lift your "spirits" along with Chews4Health—as we discover the health benefits of red wine.

In 1956, the unforgettable “Grape Stomping” episode of “I Love Lucy,” showed Lucille Ball jumping in a vat of grapes-- trying to create red wine. Current wine making techniques are not so primitive (or fun) but the end result brings something very healthy for us all.

The American Heart Association has recently recognized the benefits of red wine. They now recommend drinking one glass per day for females -- and 2 glasses per day for men. There are even some researchers that attribute superior health to the consumption of red wine.

The Balancing Act’s Health Expert, Dr. David Friedman—founder of Chews4Health says, “Actually it’s not the alcohol that creates the health benefits but rather, it’s an ingredient in the grapes called Resveratrol.”

“In laboratory tests, resveratrol has shown to have anti-aging, anti-oxidant and anti-coagulant properties-- which means it may help keep the arteries from clogging”. Dr.Friedman says he’s included this powerful ingredient along with 15-others in Chews4Health— a chewable dietary supplement.

So, lift your glasses with us and check out The Balancing Act’s Chews4Health—Red Wine the Fountain of Youth? Airing July 27, 2009 on Lifetime Television at 7a.m. (Eastern/Pacific—check your local listings).
