Jessica Simpson to ditch her Daisy Dukes for Business Suits

Jessica Simpson has secured her first lead role, to star in “Blonde Ambition.”

Jessica Simpson will share top billing with Luke Wilson in her next film “Blonde Ambition”, a loose remake of the 1988 “Working Girl.”

Blonde Ambition tells the story of a young woman climbing the rungs of the corporate ladder. It is a role Melanie Griffith earned an Oscar nomination for as Best Actress.

According to producer Justin Berfield, Simpson “fell in love with the script.” It will be her first leading role on the big screen. She will be supported by Luke Wilson who knows a thing or two about Hollywood comedies. He has starred in some of the most successful laughers in the past decade including Old School with Will Farrell and Legally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon.

Reports have circulated that Andy Dick is in discussions to play an “evil secretary” in the flick.

Filming is scheduled to begin November 27th in Shreveport, Louisiana, and could hit screens by next summer.
