Christian Drug Rehab Centers Are Not All Alike: Real Hope or Complete Hoax?

Let's be perfectly clear. Not all Christian rehab centers are alike. There is considerable skepticism about Christian rehab centers, simply because many people do not understand how faith can help addicts on their journey to recovery. A good Christian drug rehab provides real hope to addicts for a healthier future. Christian rehab centers are not a hoax, nor are they a magic solution to a complex disease. Christian rehab centers know that when an addict's spiritual health is strengthened, they are equipped to make positive changes in their lives.

Some Chrstian rehabs do not have detox facilities available.  Others do not offer certified addiction counselors or a full time medical staff.  Many are not certified by the Joint Commission of Health Care Organizations.  A phone call to the center will answer many of these questions.  Beware of any facility that does not offer staff on site 24 hours/day.  With a little research though, it is possible to find a good program. 

Christian rehab centers differ in their approach to the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. Many Christian rehab centers incorporate a holistic approach to addiction treatment, utilizing therapies as unique as yoga, meditation, tai chi, massage and aromatherapy. These therapies are combined with intensive, daily Bible study and prayer, all of which work together to help addicts regain control of their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Christian rehab centers believe that addiction is a disease that affects the entire person, not just one part of them.

Recovery from addiction is never easy, nor is it without challenges. Christian drug rehab does not promise recovery without sacrifice and hard work, but addicts who go to Christian rehab centers often find themselves rewarded by a deep and meaningful relationship with God. This personal relationship is beneficial to them in their recovery journey, especially for those addicts who have never had a connection with God and experienced His grace and love.

The Bible says, in Isaiah 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."  Christian drug rehab centers a real solution for people that are hurting and struggling with addiction. The disease of addiction destroys lives, but God's love heals deep wounds and sustains us every step of the way.
