Everett mother charged child endangerment for using heroin around 2 year-old

Everett, WA- A two year-old boy was hospitalized after police discovered his mother was smoking heroin in their car and suspected the boy might be high.

Police pulled over Camie Bena, 22, on March 22 in Everett, Washington. Officers were in the process of arresting Bena’s boyfriend for an outstanding warrant and other charges when they noticed a loaded needle and other heroin paraphernalia in her purse.

The officers were concerned about the boy and believed he may have been high off the heroin his mother was smoking in the car. They also noted that Bena did not seem troubled about her son’s possible intoxication.
