Movie mogul Robert Weinstein’s estranged wife files for divorce and seeks order of protection

New York, NY- Anne Weinstein, the wife of movie mogul Robert Weinstein, filed for divorce Friday, April 6 and asked the court to grant her an order of protection because she fears “bodily harm.”

Anne is asking the court to keep her husband from contacting her after a family fight last week. A representative for Robert Weinstein stated that Anne was angry because the family engineered an intervention for her alcohol abuse.

A representative for Robert Weinstein, Don Sloane told the New York Post, “I can categorically state there was no abuse. Any claim of abuse is irresponsible and frivolous. The alleged incident consisted of an intervention by family members… in an attempt to convince Bob’s wife Annie to seek help for her alcohol addiction.”

Anne and her divorce attorneys deny these allegations, saying they are “wholly false.”

Anne and Robert Weinstein married 12 years ago and have two children together. This will be Robert’s second divorce and has two children from his previous marriage.

Robert Weinstein and his brother Harvey have released numerous films under Dimension Films and the Weinstein Group.

A married couple with a great deal of assets will benefit from retaining an accomplished divorce lawyer to help them settle issues of custody, alimony and final settlements. The main goal of a divorce attorney is to make certain their clients are able to retain their parental rights and the assets they deserve.
