Melissa Gilbert was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital for a head injury Monday night during Dancing With The Stars’ live performance show. The former "Little House on the Prairie" star was taken from the set on a stretcher after complaining of feeling dizzy. Fellow contestant Sherri Shepherd told Us Weekly magazine that Gilbert hit her head while performing her paso doble with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
"She hit her head during her dance, and then after she felt a little dizzy so they took her to the hospital just to get checked out and make sure she was okay," Shepherd said.
Gavin DeGraw had to carry Gilbert, 44, down a flight of stairs because the actress couldn’t walk. Gilbert later Tweeted about her injury.
"I'm alright. Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of,” she wrote.
Gilbert also thanked DeGraw for his help. "@GavinDeGraw bless your heart for carrying me down those stairs!" she added.
Another star and dancing pro will be eliminated from the competition on tonight’s results show.
