Man accused of planning to kill Hilary Duff arrested

Hilary Duff may have narrowly escaped a deranged fan’s plan to murder her over the weekend. The singer/actress had taken out a restraining order on 18-year-old Maksim Miakovsky, a Rusian national, last month after she became afraid for her safety.

Duff has said that Miakovsky’s sole reason for traveling to the United States was to start a relationship with her. Miakovsky had vowed to eliminate anybody who stood in his way of his intentions, that included Duff’s boyfriend, Joel Madden.

Miakovsky was arrested on Friday when he told a private investigator about his plans to kill Duff at an event she was to be attending on Sunday. He is currently being held on $200,000 bail at the Manhattan Beach jail.
