Can Lindsay Lohan give up the Club for a Diamond

While she gained her initial fame as a singer/actress a few years ago it seems, as of late, pop princess Lindsay Lohan has achieved more notoriety for her nightlife and its penchant for lasting until early the next morning.

The star of Mean Girls may have to curb her club hopping a bit as she has reportedly been signed to star in an obscure Tennessee Williams’ screenplay The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond.

The story is set in the Deep South circa 1920 and tells the tale of Fisher Willow (Lindsay Lohan), a strong willed debutante who defies social conventions and begins dating a young man below her family’s standing.

Fisher losses a teardrop diamond earring at a society event and quickly points the finger of blame at her new partner. Insisting that he is to blame for the lost earring Fisher works to convince herself that her lie is truth. When the earring is found Fisher becomes the subject of scrutiny and suspicion. And like any good Tennessee Williams piece she begins to spiral towards insanity.

Filming for the movie is set for next year.
