NHL scores and highlights from Monday night.
Washington (6-4-4) came back from a 3-0 deficit and overcame the Ottawa Senators (5-7-1) 4-3 in overtime. Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal in the second and added another with 24.4 seconds in regulation to force overtime. Chris Clark scored the game winner for the Capitals.
Ilya Kovalchuk had his second hat trick of the season with goals 10, 11 and 12 and Johan Hedberg won his third straight game in goal as Atlanta (11-3-3) beat the Boston Bruins (4-6-2) 5-3. Marian Hossa had his 13th goal of the year and Slava Kozlov had a goal and three assists for the Thrashers. Patrice Bergeron scored two goals for the Bruins.
Filip Kuba had two goals and Martin St. Louis scored his 11th goal and added an assist as the Tampa Bay Lightning (7-7-1) pounded the NY Islanders (6-6-2) 5-1. Vaclav Prospal contributed two assists in the Lightning route.
Andrew Raycroft had 40 saves for Toronto (9-5-3) and Alexei Ponikarovsky had a goal and an assist as the Maple Leafs scored three goals in the third period to beat the Philadelphia Flyers (3-10-1) 4-1.
Roberto Luongo saved 19 shots for Vancouver (8-7-1) and Taylor Pyatt scored the game winner with 45 seconds as the Canucks skated past the Dallas Stars (11-3-0) 2-1. Eric Lindros netted the lone goal for the Stars.
Anaheim (11-0-4) has yet to lose in regulation and they continued their winning ways against the Pittsburgh Penguins (7-5-0) 3-2. Teemu Selanne had a goal and an assist and Scott Niedermayer had a pair of assists in the Ducks win.
