Late Tuesday, Conseco said it will soon to report their net income for this second-quarter. The company expects a market gain of $15.8 million to $27.8 million, improving from a net loss of $488.5 million a year earlier.

The company sees a net profit of 9 cents to 15 cents on a per-share basis, including 7 cents to 13 cents a share in net realized investment losses. Last year, in this time of the year, the company posted a net loss of $2.65 a share.
