Cleveland (2-2) shot 36 percent from the field and 62 percent from the line as they fell in overtime to the visiting Atlanta Hawks (3-1) 104-95. Joe Johnson had 25 points 8 rebounds and 5 assists while Tyronn Lue had 19 points and 11 assists. LeBron James had 34 points 7 rebounds and 6 assists but was only 5 for 11 from the line for the Cavaliers.

Indiana (3-1) had six players in double figures as they handed Philadelphia (3-1) their first lost 97-86. The Pacers were led by Jermaine O’Neil and his 16 points and 11 rebounds. The Pacers out rebounded the 76ers 52-32. Allen Iverson had 20 points for Philadelphia. 

Dwyane Wade had 31 points 7 rebounds and 6 assists as the Miami Heat (2-2) beat the Seattle Supersonics (1-3) 90-87 in South Florida. Rashard Lewis had 23 points in the Sonics loss.

The Hornets (4-0) stayed perfect on the year after beating the Golden State Warriors (2-3) 97-93 in Oklahoma City. Chris Paul had 22 points and 11 assists and Tyson Chandler had 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Hornets. Baron Davis led the Warriors with 22 points.

Houston (2-2) out rebounded the Memphis Grizzlies (1-3) 45-33 and Yao Ming had 24 points and 7 rebounds in the Rockets 86-80 win. Stromile Swift had 15 points in a losing effort.

Andrew Bynum scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds as the L.A. Lakers (4-1) survived a scare in the fourth quarter and beat the Minnesota Timberwolves (2-3) 95-88. Kobe Bryant finished with 17 points on 5-7 shooting for the Lakers. Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves in points, 26, rebounds, 9, and assists 5 in the loss.
