Success of Borat presents Sacha Baron Cohen with $42.5 million film deal

After the huge success of his film “Borat: Cultural Learning of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” Universal Pictures has reportedly offered Borat’s creator, Sacha Baron Cohen, $42.5 million to film his next movie.

The British comedian Cohen has risen to cult-like status with the characters he created on “Da Ali G Show.” While he has already made films based on two of his characters, Ali G, who interviews people from Donald Trump and Andy Rooney to Victoria and David Beckham, and Borat, who brings a sort of naivety to his homophobic, anti-Semitic, and chauvinistic attitude, Universal wants Cohen to bring his third character, Bruno, to the big screen.

Bruno is a gay Austrian who is infatuated with the fashion industry. Many of the skits featuring Bruno on “Da Ali G Show” follow him during interviews of club owners, fashion designers and the occasional square dance party in the Deep South.

The success of Borat, which is on the way to becoming the most profitable movie ever made, has placed Cohen in high demand. He has been on every major media outlet since the movie began promotion.
