Slava Kozlov had a hat trick and Marian Hossa added three assists as Atlanta (12-3-3) overcame a two-goal deficit twice to beat the Ottawa Senators (5-8-1) 5-4. Ilya Kovalchuk added his 13th goal of the year for the Thrashers to tie the score at 4-4 in the third and Kozlov got the game winner to cap his hat trick. Kari Lehtonen replaced Johan Hedberg after the Senators took a 4-2 lead. Lehtonen stopped all 19 shots he faced
Martin Straka netted two goals and Michael Nylander added two assists and scored the game winner in the shootout as the NY Rangers (8-6-1) knocked off the Florida Panthers (6-7-3) in extra time 4-3. Nathan Horton had a goal and an assist in the Panthers loss.
Vincent Lecavalier scored the game-winner in overtime as the Tampa Bay Lightning (8-7-1) overcame a hat trick from Nils Ekman and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3. Eric Perrin tied the score at 3-3 for the Lightning early in the third period.
Dominik Hasek stopped all 16 shots he faced for his 70th career shutout and the Detroit Red Wings (10-4-1) out shot the Edmonton Oilers (7-7-1) 45-16 and won 3-0. Henrik Zetterberg scored a shorthanded goal for Detroit in the win.
