Bank of America Corp.'s profit has declined 6 percent at the end of second quarter, as its gains were offset by high credit costs.

The North Carolina-based bank had gained a net income of $3.2 billion in the second quarter of this year, as compared to $3.4 in the same period of last year. After deducting $805 million in preferred dividends, including $713 million paid to the U.S. government, earnings per share were 33 cents.
