Semi-truck driver dies in fiery crash on Florida road

Florida State police said on man is dead and another man was injured following an early morning accident.

The accident happened around 1 a.m.  Friday morning on State Road 53. According to Florida police, the unidentified driver of a semi-truck was traveling northbound when, for an unknown reason, he crossed over into the southbound lanes and crashed into the left side of another tractor trailer, driven by John Geiger, 47.

The impact of the crash caused the unidentified driver’s truck to jackknife then erupt in a blaze. The driver died on the scene.

Geiger’s truck also overturned on the passenger side and came to rest on S.R. 59. Geiger had chest pains and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Because of the size and weight of a tractor-trailer, they can cause severe injuries along with costly property damage when involved in a traffic accident. Often these accidents are caused by driver error and a truck accident attorney can hold these individuals financially accountable for their carelessness.

Injury victims will be faced with medical expenses that can be recovered by a skilled truck accident lawyer, so victims don’t have to pay for these costs out of their own wallets. When a truck accident attorney is assigned to a case the injured can be confident that they will receive the maximum amount of compensation they deserve for their pain and suffering.
