Pakistani officials confirm there are no survivors in a plane crash in Rawalpindi. The Bhoja Airline Boeing 737 was carrying at least 121 people when it went down Friday shortly before it was set to land at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad. The flight had departed from Karachi roughly 3 1/2 hours before the crash.
The cause of the crash is unknown and is under investigation. Officials with the Civilian Aviation Authority said bad weather may have been a contributing factor. Weather reports at the time of the crash cited thunderstorms and low visibility in the area.
Authorities have pulled 110 bodies from the plane’s debris. The flight data recorder was also recovered and is expected to shed some light on the cause of the crash.
