Pro-Golfer, Matt Giles, crashes into home and gets charged with DUI

Arizona police have charged Australian pro-golfer Matt Giles, 22, with DUI after he crashed into a single family home in Phoenix suburb.

Giles was arrested Monday after an accident. According to Gilbert police, Giles was “traveling at a very high rate of speed and tried to make a left turn.” But he lost control of his car and crashed into a home.

Luckily, no one in the home was injured but the natural gas line was ruptured.

Giles who is a native of Sydney, Australia, was given field sobriety, but results of those tests won’t be available for a couple of weeks.

Gilbert Police Sargent Bill Balafas said, “He is being charged with three counts of DUI to include extreme DUI, based on the high level of impairment observed during field sobriety tests.” In some instances a drunk driving lawyer can contest the results of a breathalyzer or field sobriety tests.

Giles is a graduate of Southern California University and has earned two All-American Honors.
