It took a minor miracle, but Rutgers overcame the odds and beat Louisville 28-25. Jeremy Ito lined up for a 33-yard field goal with 21 seconds left and his kick went wide left. The officials ruled Louisville off sides and Ito lined up for a 28-yard field goal and split the uprights for the win.

Entering the game #15 Rutgers was given little chance against their Big East rival #3 Louisville. By halftime Louisville had done everything they could prove those forecasts right. Rutgers went into their locker room trailing 25-14 and had their work cut out if they were to stage an upset.
The Scarlet Knights defense was up to the task. They allowed just over 50 yards in the second half to a team that averages just under 500 yards of offense a game.
Ray Rice finished the game for Rutgers with 133 yards rushing and two touchdowns, his second bringing them to within three points of Louisville.
Jeremey Ito kicked a 46-yard field goal to tie the score early in the fourth quarter before book-ending the frame with his game-winner.
Rutgers moved to 9-0 and leads the Big East Conference while the loss drops Louisville to 8-1.
