Several people are injured after tractor-trailer crashes into car behind school bus

Several people were injured Monday morning after a tractor-trailer crashed into a car waiting behind a school bus on Route 28.

Police said that a car was parked behind a school bus that was picking up students when the tractor trailer slammed into the car. Multiple vehicles were involved and at least six ambulances were called to the scene.

Two of the injured sustained serious injuries, the other four were also taken to the hospital but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The bus had no damages and none of the passengers were injured.

Investigators shut down two lanes of Route 28 while they reconstructed the accident. They aren’t sure if weather played a role in the accident since heavy downpours were reported in the area.
