Micro Manufacturing Leader Potomac Photonics Adds New SPI Fiber Laser
Potomac Photonics is pleased to announce the purchase of another SPI fiber laser for use in its contract-manufacturing unit. This laser will be integrated into a system that is optimized for small hole drilling and high precision cutting.
Feature sizes as small as 5 microns can be achieved in a wide variety of materials such as metals, ceramics, silicon wafers and more. Medical Device, Biotech, Electronics, Alternative Energy, Automotive and Consumers Goods are among the many industries that will be able to outsource their prototyping and production projects to Potomac Photonics, which is ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certified.
“We are very pleased to add this new laser to our expanding list of micro machining equipment, which is no longer limited to laser technology, as we now also have 3D printers and micro CNC systems,” stated Mike Davis, Director of Operational Excellence, Potomac Photonics. “Our commitment is to offer our customers the largest toolbox of micro-manufacturing capabilities, and this SPI laser will provide our customers with a cost-effective way to have their precision parts fabricated,” added Mike Adelstein, President of Potomac Photonics.
