After 17 years together, Martin Lawrence and wife Shamicka are parting ways. The couple tied the knot in 2010 after 15 years together. They have two daughters, Amara, 11, and Iyana, 9.
"Martin and Shamicka Lawrence have decided to divorce. The couple has made the joint decision to part ways,” a rep for the actor tells People magazine.
Martin and Shamicka also released a joint statement. "Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together," the pair said.
This was Lawrence’s second marriage. He was married to Patricia Southall from 1995 to 1996.
Lawrence is perhaps best known for starring in the Bad Boys and Big Momma films. He most recently wrapped up a comedy tour.
