Last Wednesday Chimera Investment Corporation CIM announces Core Earnings $48.9 million or $0.10 per average share for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, compared to Core Earnings for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 of $6.9 million or $0.18 per average share and Core Earnings for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, of $15.4 million or $0.09 per average share.

"Core Earnings" represents a non-GAAP measure that approximates distributable income, and is defined as GAAP net income (loss) excluding non-cash equity compensation expense, gains or losses on sales of securities and terminations of interest rate swaps and unrealized gains or losses on interest rate swaps.
